TARF Silicon Valley Ertuğrul Gazi Camii
Diyanet Silikon Vadisi Ertuğrul Gazi Camii’nin kuruluş serüveni, 1993’te Turkish-American Religious Foundation (TARF)’ın kurulması ile başlar. Uzun yıl- lar boyunca bu tohum filizlenir ve 2015’te TARF – Silicon Valley şubesinin kurul- masıyla birlikte oluşum hız kazanır. 2016 yılında Diyanet Silicon Valley, ilk mescidini Burlingame’de geçici olarak bir binada açar. Ancak resmî izinler konusunda sorunlar yaşanır ve 2018 yılında mescit kapatılmak zorunda kalır.
Daha sonra mescit için satın alınabilecek bir gayrimenkul arayışına başlanır. 4 yıllık uzun arayışın ardından Redwood City’de bulunan bir kilise, 2022 yılında cömert topluluğumuzun el ve gönül birliğiyle satın alınır. 2,5 yıl süren yoğun çalışmalardan sonra mescidin tadilatı tamamlanır ve Diyanet Silikon Vadisi (Er- tuğrul Gazi Camii) 2025 yılının Ocak ayında yapılan resmî törenle ibadete açılır.
Kurulduğu ilk günden bu yana misyonu:
- İslâmı her yaştan, ırktan, renkten, cinsiyetten, inanıştan insanlara doğru bir
şekilde anlatmak ve öğretmek,
- İhtiyaç sahiplerine yönelik toplumsal hizmetler sunmak ve
- Türk-İslâm kültürünü yaşamak ve yaşatmak
olan Diyanet Silikon Vadisi mescidinde sırasıyla Bahadır Ertaş, Süleyman Yeşi- lyurt, Ergün Gürsül, Oğuz Olcay ve Serhat Nazım Avcı dernek başkanı olarak; Mahmut Alpaydın, Hasan Mollaoğlu ve Fatih Güleç, din görevlisi olarak görev almışlardır.
The founding journey of the Diyanet Silicon Valley Ertugrul Gazi Masjid began in 1993 with the establishment of the Turkish-American Religious Founda- tion (TARF). For many years, this seed slowly grew, and in 2015, with the found- ing of TARF’s Silicon Valley branch, the process accelerated. In 2016, Diyanet Sil- icon Valley opened its first mosque temporarily in a building in Burlingame. How- ever, due to issues with official permits, the mosque had to be closed in 2018.
This led to the beginning of a search for a property that could be purchased and converted into a permanent mosque. After a long four-year search, a church located in Redwood City was purchased in 2022 thanks to the unity and generosity of our devoted community. Following 2.5 years of extensive renovation work, the mosque’s restoration was completed, and Diyanet Silicon Valley (Ertugrul Gazi Masjid) was officially opened for worship in January 2025.
Since its inception, the mission of Diyanet Silicon Valley Ertugrul Gazi Masjid has been:
- To convey and teach Islam accurately to people of all ages, races, colors, genders, and beliefs,
- To provide social services for those in need, and
- To live by and preserve the Turkish-Islamic
Over the years, the following individuals have served as heads of the associ- ation: Bahadır Ertaş, Süleyman Yeşilyurt, Ergün Gürsül, Oğuz Olcay, and Serhat Nazım Avcı. The mosque has also been served by the following religious officers: Mahmut Alpaydın, Hasan Mollaoğlu, and Fatih Güleç.
