Murat Mosque; After the school building located in Monroeville, New Jersey was purchased and converted into a mosque by our citizens, \u0130lyas Akyildiz, who had been a teacher and instructor at the Turkish American Muslim Cultural Association, served as Honorary Imam-Hatip at the Murat Mosque between 1996-1999. (\u0130lyas AKYILDIZ was born in 1955 in the Village of Erenler, \u00c7ayeli, Rize. After graduating from the Faculty of Theology, he taught and administered in many schools in our country.) During the time he was on duty, considering the conditions of the day, with the efforts of the mosque congregation, our citizens, and his own efforts, he renovated a room in the building to provide a place to sleep and earn a living and tried to provide religious services to our citizens under these difficult conditions. Our teacher, \u0130lyas Akyildiz, wrote a book titled "Helping Allah" as a keepsake during his tenure as Honorary Imam-Hatib of the Murat Mosque.<\/p>

The Murat Mosque is located at 379 Monroeville Rd. Monroeville, N 08343-1853 in the state of New Jersey, USA. Our mosque was purchased in 1994 by citizens Halit \u00d6ZDEM\u0130R, Mehmet AKIN, H\u00fcseyin \u00d6NAL, Kas\u0131m AKILLI, Ramazan K\u00dc\u00c7\u00dcK, Alaaddin \u00d6ZDEM\u0130R, \u015eaban \u00d6ZDEM\u0130R, and Ali \u00d6ZDEM\u0130R, who came to the USA from T\u00fcrkiye for work, for 275,000 $ through an open tender. The mosque was subsequently transferred to the "Faith Cultural Community Center Murat Mosque Association," which was established on behalf of the mosque. A section of the building, which had previously served as a school, was converted into a mosque after the necessary renovations (including the construction of a mihrab, pulpit, and pulpit) by the established Association, and it has been used as a place of worship by our citizens. The first honorary imam at the Murat Mosque was \u0130lyas Y\u0131ld\u0131z. At the request of the newly established association, the first official religious official was sent by the Presidency of Religious Affairs in 2002.<\/p>

The target audience consists almost entirely of Turkish citizens. A small number of other nationalities also attend the mosque. While the entire Murat Mosque renovations have not yet been completed, the existing section used as a mosque has been renovated, with the necessary improvements made. The carpets have been renewed, the interior repainted, and the women's prayer area has been expanded and made more functional.<\/p>

Renovation of the pulpit, mihrab, and podium with ornate tiles is planned for after Ramadan this year. The ground-floor meeting room, restroom, and ablution facilities (men and women) have been renovated. The cafeteria and kitchen are undergoing renovation and expansion to be ready for service before Ramadan this year and will be operational during this month. Renovation of the remaining sections of the building will continue, with plans to build classrooms and a conference hall for student learning. Additionally, various sports fields are planned for the vacant land outside the building for young people to use for athletic activities.<\/p>
