The story of the TAMCA Yunus Emre Mosque began in 1990 when, for various reasons and in response to the need for basic religious, educational, social, and cultural services needed by the Turkish-American community in New Jersey, the foundation was split from the Delaware Muslim Community Association. Led by the founding members Mehmet I\u015f\u0131k, H\u00fcseyin G\u00fcnayd\u0131n, Ali Kaplan, Emin G\u00fcnayd\u0131n, Mehmet Pamuk, \u0130hsan Y\u0131lmaz, and Ahmet Yola\u00e7an, the association, comprising 120 members, decided to purchase the land and building where the mosque currently serves. The process continued with the purchase of a house near the mosque for a religious official. Following the necessary renovations, the building was opened in 1991. Subsequently, the Presidency of Religious Affairs requested a religious official to provide religious, social, and cultural services. Thus, following the first mosque in the United States, the Ulu Mosque in Peterson, which served under the auspices of the Directorate of Religious Affairs, the Yunus Emre Mosque became the second mosque to be appointed by the Directorate of Religious Affairs, following the Ulu Mosque. From the association's founding in 1990 to the first congress in 1991, efforts continued under the leadership of Ali Kaplan. Following the congress, Seyfettin BA\u015e\u00c7ILAR became the association's first official president. Thus, TAMCA, which began its journey in 1990 with 120 members, held its first services in 1991.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
