The building housing Nur Mosque was originally built as a church in 1909. Over time, in response to the growing needs of the region's Muslim community, it was purchased with the great sacrifices and heartfelt contributions of our Macedonian compatriots and converted into a mosque in 2014. This structure, notable for its predominantly wood and plaster architecture, continues to serve as a special place of worship, carrying the traces of its past into the present.<\/p>

Our mosque, which opened for worship on the occasion of Miraj Kandili in 2014, has since been remedied and has begun serving with a large turnout. Today, it has a capacity of approximately 100 worshippers. 75 of this area is reserved for men and 25 for women.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The Opening of the Mosque and Its Connection with the Presidency of Religious Affairs<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

As a demonstration of their commitment to their spiritual and cultural values, our Macedonian community has requested, since the opening of our mosque, that a religious official from T\u00fcrkiye serve here. In accordance with this request, competent and qualified clerics, appointed for specific periods by the Presidency of Religious Affairs, organize the community's worship and conduct various religious activities. This practice has continued since the mosque's opening, and the religious officials serving here serve as spiritual guides for the Muslim community in the region.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Nur Mosque is open for prayers five times a day, always offering its congregation a peaceful environment for worship. Friday prayers, in particular, attract 70-80 people, further enhancing the mosque's spiritual atmosphere. Holy nights of holy nights are celebrated with special programs, encouraging the congregation to worship together in unity. Iftar dinners are held on specific days during Ramadan, instilling a spirit of unity and solidarity within the congregation. In this way, it serves not only as a place of worship but also as a place of brotherhood, bringing the community together.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Nur Mosque is not just a place of worship; it's also a complex offering a wide range of amenities to its congregation. The mosque's annex includes a dining hall, kitchen, restrooms, and two-bedroom staff housing. These facilities allow the mosque to be used not only for worship but also for social events, educational programs, and community outreach activities.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Nur Mosque offers educational programs for children to pass on religious and moral values to future generations. These classes, held weekdays and weekends, help children learn Islam correctly and develop into informed individuals.<\/p>

In addition, conversation programs organized for women and men help the community consolidate their religious knowledge, strengthen social solidarity, and maintain the spirit of unity.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Nur Mosque is not only a place of worship but also a center that unites the Muslim community. Through its social activities and spiritual services, it unites Muslims in the region, empowering them to live their faith more deeply. As of 2025, Ekrem Vait Bey will serve as the mosque's association president. Under his leadership, our mosque continues to provide the best possible service to its community.<\/p>

This sacred space, built with the heartfelt contributions of our Macedonian compatriots, is a reflection of the spiritual heritage they have carried from the past to the present. Our community continues to uphold this legacy through events, educational programs, and worship that reinforce unity and solidarity.<\/p>
