From Tradition to the Future…

Turkish-Ahiska Cultural Center Hilal Mosque (Seattle, Washington)

Mosque Ownership

The mosque was purchased after consultation with the community, based on the name of Fakhreddin Fodlov. However, ownership of the mosque will be transferred to the association in April 2025. Originally a church built in 1930, it was purchased in December 2017 and opened for worship in May 2018. The mosque's capacity is approximately 80-100. The association retains ownership of the mosque.

Every week, on Saturdays and Sundays, the children are given two days of Quran, Tajweed, catechism and etiquette lessons, with the girls on the upper floor of our mosque and the boys on the lower floor.

Summer Quran courses continue throughout the summer holiday. For men, lessons on the catechism, biography, and faith are held every evening at the mosque between Maghrib and Isha prayers. During Ramadan, separate Mukabele recitations and iftar meals are served for men and women. Friday prayers are held at our mosque, but Eid prayers are held in a rented wedding hall.

Goals

In consultation with our community, a new mosque project was drawn up with the approval of our Directorate of Religious Affairs to meet the needs and provide better service.

We want to start the construction of our mosque as soon as possible.
